As a Type-A personality, I was always being told to relax. After surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from my intestine, my doctor told me to slow down or update my will. Someone suggested a yoga class, and off I went (crossing another item off my to-do list). In my first class, I could barely do the most basic poses. The instructor suggested that I take up another activity. “I don’t think yoga is for you,” she said. Now determined, I vowed to find a more compassionate yoga instructor—and soon, I did!

After practicing yoga for several years, I grew stronger, more mindful, and a lot calmer. Yoga taught me to use my breath—on and off the mat. My compassionate instructor suggested that I become a yoga instructor. So, I did!

In 2016, I completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training in Vinyasa style. Since then I have been teaching at various studios and fitness centers and earning more certifications in Yin, Pilates, high intensity interval training (HIIT), cycling, and aqua fitness.

Today, I can move my body in ways that I never thought possible. With deep gratitude, I share my love for yoga with my students. Please join me on the mat and learn what yoga can do for you.
